Be Germ Savvy!

I know – we all became savvy germ avoiders during COVID-19, but it is worth a reminder as we enter our winter season.
The best ways to cut down the spread of germs are the simple, everyday habits we sometimes forget:
Wash your hands often – especially after being in public, before eating, and after coughing or sneezing. Soap and water for 20 seconds is best, but hand sanitizer works if you’re on the go.
Cover your coughs and sneezes – use a tissue or your elbow, not your hands.
Avoid touching your face – germs can easily enter through your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home if you’re sick – even mild symptoms can spread illness to someone more vulnerable.
Clean and disinfect – wipe down high-touch surfaces like phones, doorknobs, and countertops.
Give yourself space – if someone is sick, keeping some distance helps protect you.
Mask when needed – if you’re around someone high-risk or in crowded indoor places during peak virus season, a mask adds an extra layer of protection.
These steps may feel small, but together they make a big difference in protecting you, your family, and the community.
